Bigger tire Q

I am considering the same thing for my D2 except they are all-terrains. I'm not sure if they will fit on the spare though. It should at least rubb the bumper on opening the door as it is now. "What do you mean by flipping it?" That is removing and turning over the tire carrier with a small amount of easily done modification to the tire carrier. I did not flip the tire carrier. Different brands of tires are slightly different in size. I'm using Big-O XT's.
