First the background:
I've got a '94 D1 with the following suspension setup:
Rear OME 762's on 1.5" Spacers with extended N44 Shocks
Front RR Original HD Rear Springs with OME N73 Shocks.
Sway bars removed as they limit articulation. The RR shocks were chosen because of the 3" lift with good articulation due to the low (170 psi) rating. Running on Cooper Discoverer STT 245/75/16's.
I thought I'd perfected my suspension - and I must admit that I'm very happy with it. Until Easter weekend when we did an expedition which involved full load, ie. roofrack with Hannibal tent etc. which equates to about 150 pounds! I was sh*t scared because there were quite a few VERY off camber situations. The truck would keep keep on listing, until I was convinced it was tipping.

The million $ question therefore: Where do I go from here?? Do I fit stiffer springs like OME 764 in front? Are the 762's adequate in the rear for the load I'm carrying? Will a wider tire maybe give more stability? Won't stiffer springs limit my articulation? Or, am I maybe too paranoid and must accept the body roll as normal?

I hope this makes sense....

Better yet, re attach the rear swaybar and only have the front one disco'd that will help a lot with with stability and limit articulation very little.

Thanks for the input. Slight problem with re attaching the rear swaybar: With the amount of articulation I've got, the bar actually flips over. So unless I can get longer links for the sway, it won't work.

Ho, thanks for your feedback. I agree 100% with removing the rack, but it's unfortunately not always practical due to the disco's limited space. I don't think that 150lbs on the roof is excessive - considering that you might have 3 or 4 jerrys (at guessing 30-40lbs each) on the roof on an expedition. What I'd like is a solution to the truck swaying due to the roof weight - which IMO equates to stiffer springs.

If you can't get longer links, look at Jeep comapnies as well as toyota. They make a wide variety of links for cheap.

As far as stiffer springs, try just the rears. That might be enough to stable you out and keep the flex up front and sacrafice a little in back, which your suspension should be doing anyway.
