I have a 1992 three door, and the passenger seat frame has just cracked. One of the two U shaped channels under the seat cracked at the bend and separated from the weld onto the horizontal cross member that runs along the back of the seat. It looks like the U shaped channel is the wrong way around, with the web in tension rather than compression ( LR engineering hey ? )

I basically just intend to remove the seat, weld this piece back on, then re-install. Anyone had any similar problems with a three door or D1 ? Apparently the D1 3 door seat is the same as the Rangie's ?

Hi Ian
This is another common fault with the 3 door Disco,If you weld it, it will only crack again. Best thing to do is replace the U shaped channel with a section of thick flat bar 6mm x 30mm is perfect.
