I am looking at buying a '96 V8 Disco with only 60000miles on the clock. The only problem is that the dash section in front of the driver over the instruments has pulled loose from the rest of the dash. Is it a major mission to repair this? Really don't want to pass this vehicle up because it is exactly what I want. Any help will be aprreciated. |

This happened to my '96 at about the same time. I simply added a bracket and a screw at the bottom of the cluster to re-attach it to the dash. Repair couldn't be easier. I would definitely go for it. My '96 was going strong when I sold it with 95,000. |

Search is your friend. http://www.roverconnection.com/Disco%20Acc%20Pix/rcdsh.htm I did a search in the archives and came up with this link. If this is the only problem you've found on this 96, great ! I love mine. Good luck with your new toy purchase.

If its the peice around the gauges with the switches... There are only 2 screws holding it from the front and they break and pull through. Take it off ...you'll see from behind what has happened. You might be able to JB Weld some washers in there or possibly even a glue gun will work. Or find screws with bigger heads that will fit. |

Easy fix, it was the first thing I did on my 95. Just got some bigger screws and used them. Nothing else was broken so it was easy. I'm lucky it doesn't rattle (not yet) Enjoy! Cheers Andy |
