It's clearly custom designed to block out the view of the green traffic lights as well as the red ones that the headliner gets rid of...

I think that pic made it look bigger than it is. I checked to make sure that it did not obstruct my view before I squigyed the water out from behind it.

LOL. Do they have one in woodland DPM?

Serious question... Jamie -- is that tape on your steering wheel to tell you when your wheels are straight? I have heard of doing that for older vehicles, where the steering wheel had lots of rotational symmetry and it was tough to tell where the steering wheel was. Personally, I haven't noticed that I have had much problem feeling this intuitively on the DII wheel. But I guess I could just be compensating. Do you find it helps much?

Mathew, that's absolutely totally gross and disgusting and illustrates one of the main reasons why I am so fond of pink when I am having to do "boy stuff". It would not be a healthy idea for you to think that I am anything except for a 100% girly girl. The boys around me would beat you up for sure. You are now officially in the dog house. You will have to stay in the dog house until you can post something feminine (like that pink cheerleader that someone posts every once in a while).

Donald, yes, it is a great help to me. When going through the worst of mucky mud, you can get almost catapulted out of it when tires dig in and take hold. When that happens, I like the safety of quickly knowing exactly where my wheels are heading, ESPECIALLY if someone is spotting me from the front. It also helps when I am manuevering closely through trees. For safety reasons, I've been attempting to break myself of the habit of leaning outside my window to check my position. I made my own by using reflective tape and electrical tape. I know it looks tacky, but it works.

I didn't meen to hurt your feelings Jamie. There was a little joke from a different thread involving that picture. It was late last night and I was tired from working all afternoon, so who knows what I was thinking.

I'm terribly sorry for what that may have come across as. I know you're an extremely nice person, so I don't want to hurt your feelings in any way.

Sincerely sorry,

Matt

Okay you can get out of the doghouse :-)

Neon pink flourescent spray paint comes in handy spending so much time being the only girl around the boys. When they pick on me too much, I spray paint their equipment.

They are not afraid of me, but they have learned to have a healthy respect for my spray paint :-)

Jamie-

I'm wondering why you felt it necessary to share your sticker with us to begin with.

If you didn't like Matt's response, the perhaps you should reconsider the next time you feel like posting something stupid like that flower sticker. I'm not even sure why you posted a picture of it in the first place.

Sometimes it's just best to enjoy your stuff privately, then share if someone is interested. Instead you've forced it down everyone's throat.

Oh boy, get off your soap box Koby. If we had too count all your BS posts on here, there would be a lot less to read. All she was doing is sharing something with the board. It was important to her, so that is that. Matt seemed fine with her response, even apologetic with the matter. I guess you still haven't learned to keep your attitude to yourself. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. If you read her post, she wasn't asking for input at all, just a statement of something that she liked from people she loved.
So in closing shut the ____ up.

1. It's a hibiscus....a hawaiian flower design. I have one in white of a plumeria...brought it back from the Islands last year.
2. Jamie, you need a Jeep Recovery Sticker to balance that out...
3. I NEED A JEEP RECOVERY STICKER 'cuz I towed a belly-hung Rubicon last weekend!!! :-)

Matt, I am not upset with you at all. You did not hurt my feelings. I welcome the chance to clear up any misconceptions. Don't worry, your equipment is not in any immediate danger from my spray paint :-)

Craig/Koby, It amuses me greatly to post silly stuff. I find this necessary in the wake of reading ornery fighting threads. Can't explain it, it just happens - especially in the midst of way too much serious stuff during the day here. Andy is very aware of my goofy sense of humor.

Susannah, For sure I will let you know if I come upon that sticker. When I find it, I'll get one for you. I asked my jeeper freinds about it last weekend and they had not heard of it yet. We are way on the other side of the country, so it might take awhile to find its way here.

Jamil, cool stickers and pics. I can't figure out what half of the stuff is on your truck. Hope I get to see it in person someday.

Ashley, I'm way too old for you!! I scored the one and only copy of Land Rover World magazine at Barnes and Noble for you yesterday. I will get it in the mail to you. Hope you guys are having fun wearing those silly party sunglasses. Stay safe!! :-)

Ashley,
I know the feeling. I was just at an event with a "Rover Girl" She was hands off according to her father's body language...I think she was even younger than I am. But how often does someone come up to you, comment on your truck, and say: "I just bought my daugher a Classic RR, and we're going to start building it up for her soon."

You know, it seems to me if there's room on Discoweb for endless debates about guns, knives and watches, a little sticker chat should be accepted in kind. Lightens the tone of the place up a little.

Jamie, my real hibiscus plant is persistantly flowering along this winter. That ain't easy in this chilly winter in the Mid-Atlantic. Flower-on, Rover_puppy :-)

I couldn't agree more Andy... it would be great to find a girl who loves rovers and isn't always tryin to get me to sell it... plus, I think the girls on here are pretty cool!

Love the flower Jamie, and if anyone has a problem with it, match their rig up to yours off road, and then see who's rig isn't worthy... you'de beat me hands down! Stay cool!

Ryan,

One of the very best things about being a girl owner/driver is that we are fortunate to receive an automatic exemption from participation in the testosterone contests. We get to sit contentedly on the sidelines when that stuff starts, so you won't find me lining up with or beating you or any of the other guys. However, I've gotta say that from watching the DiscoWeb DVDs, that there are a few of the guys here that I'd love to be the passenger in my own truck (or standing far away from it) to see what it "could" do while they did the driving. I'm not anywhere near as brave.

Ryan, give your girls a try at really driving your rover, coach, teach, support, and help them to build their skills and they'd probably stop trying to get you to sell it. A girls gotta have some fun out there if you want her to love your rover and support your enthusiasm.

Gee whiz, personals sections stemming from rover stuff?? That's a scary thought! Quite a unique concept since it's everyone seeing each other at their worst. Down here, we have trouble recognizing each other when we are clean. A big difference from being covered in dirt/mud from head to toe, wearing old ugly stained clothes with holes in them, ugly hats, sunglasses, heavy gloves, and boots. Add tired and hungry to that and we can't even stand ourselves.

Thanks for the compliment and glad you like the flower. Absolutely necessary to have girly stuff on all the truck stuff... maybe when I get around to decorating my highlift I will post pic of it. It is big, ugly, and heavy - so decorating it girly is not going to be easy :-)

LOL jamie... the last girl i let try to drive the rover was the girl who's sitting in the passenger side in the pic in my profile. Now my quarter panel is crunched just behind the passenger side rear wheel. Nothing I can't fix, but it's still hard enough finding girls who would like to go 4 wheeling..., anyways, I just thought it was funny that Newman had posted that line. I love your rover, so keep us updated on all the mods, stickers, highlifts, and all. I'll try to keep you updated on my new engine as well.

Have Fun,

I'm wondering why you felt it necessary to share your sticker with us to begin with.

If you didn't like Matt's response, the perhaps you should reconsider the next time you feel like posting something stupid like that flower sticker. I'm not even sure why you posted a picture of it in the first place.

Sometimes it's just best to enjoy your stuff privately, then share if someone is interested. Instead you've forced it down everyone's throat.

Is that "suggest[ing] ... that she be prepared for all sorts of responses, both complimentary and vulgar, to that sticker she posted"? I for one don't think so.

That prior post has one message between the lines, and given your tone it's pretty clear you meant it to sound this way:

quote:

Jamie, don't post that. Jamie, we don't want to read about that or look at what you posted.

Why beat around the bush, and act as if you were diplomatic about it? I return to my original post to you: If you don't think a thread seems interesting, don't read it. But if you do read a thread and realize it's not your "cup of tea," don't bitch at the thread starter for posting. It's what you told me several months ago, and if it's good enough for me, it's good enough for everyone here...
