As most of you seen my posts with my driveline problem I am having the vehicle taken to Rover Clubhouse. I can not afford taking it the dealer. Just wanted some info on what to expect and their treatment of customers. Thanks

They are cool. I have had my steed there. they wheel thier trucks and are owners and enthusitists. They have a very engaging lab named "rover" that the last time I was there was toting around a RR air spring. I will never take my truck to Rover Cary again!

they are on the

I am also interested in Rover Clubhouse because I will probably have them re-gear my diffs and install lockers in the next few weeks. I am also interested in anyones opinion on a tru-track in the front diff. Is this pretty much a waste of money? I'm not really interested in an ARB but I want something that will be beneficial off road.

Anyone know of any rover mechanics closer to fayetteville area. My truck has been sitting since Aug and it needed a few things before I left, eight months of sitting and my friend taking it for a spin around the block whenever she remembers...ugh. I need a good place to take it to whenI get back.

Ashley,

Since you live in Fayettenam, I would still recommend that you go to RCH.

Good bunch of guys there. Like others have said, enthusiasts that wheel regularly.

My Defender has been living with them for a while (since last May) as a project vehicle while I've been living in Belfast.

I've wheeled' with them a lot and they know their shit. My sis lived up in Durham over the summer and her 95 disco was over there a few times getting long-term problems fixed up.

I've bought a few things from them but they specialize a lot in the newer rover market so not a lot can apply to my 109. Still, I do business with them and have been satisfied.

I have used RCH a few times and like them. They just like Rovers and are good at fixing them. I live in Pinehurst and it is worth the drive.
I have also heard good things about a place called the Flyinf Circus English Garage (I think) Anyone use them?

I drive by Flying Circus whenever I go to Rover Clubhouse. They don't focus exclusively on Land Rovers, just British vehicles in general.

I've never heard anything bad about them, but also never heard them get the fanatical reviews that RCH gets.

If RCH were to burn down / close shop for some reason, Flying Circus would be my next choice.

I have been taking my land rovers to flying circus for the last six years. They prepped my series for a B2B trip, and it carried me 9,000 miles. They have serviced my wife's disco since the warranty went out, and it has 157,000 miles on it.

Toby Briggs owns the place, and he started repairing English cars from the back of a zebra stripped 109 when he was 16. His father the late Alan Briggs was a designer for one of the English car companies and prior to his death consulted with US companies.

Simon Briggs, Toby's brother apprenticed and worked for the Ministry of Defense (MOD) prior to coming to the states. John, his last name currently escapes me, was one of the original factory trained Land Rover mechanics for the US (technican), and is considered one of the finest mechanics around. (every body keeps trying to hire him away.)

They have other technicians who also work on Land Rovers as well as other English cars, Max and Steve. With the exception of Max, they all drive Land Rovers as their daily drivers.

One of the most interesting aspects of the folks at Flying Circus is when I call or drop by with a problem. Toby or Simon will talk through the problem with me and let me know if I can do the work my self. They have also allowed me to take stuff off my car, doing what I am capable of, to help me save costs. A couple of years ago, I spent about 4 months working full time for them in their parts shop while they looked for a permanent replacement and I looked for a new job(lost my job), and I found out that they are as good behind the door as they are in front of it.

I have seen cars shipped in from up and down the East coast for repair and/or restoration there.

Damn, I have been babbling.

Dan
