If my Disco2 keeps acting up, I may need to pick up one of these. I know they have been discussed before, but have there been any updates...opinions?

well, they were originally planning to bring in a nice diesel, but now it's just a petrol.

If you look at the specs, it's a pig.

Leafs and Drums in the rear, part time 4x4, 11mpg city.

Buy an older Isuzu Trooper and you'll come out way ahead of a Crosslander, IMHO.

Don't forget IFS and the fact that it looks like a Chinese rip-off of a D110 :-)

Curtis, last time I saw one in person - they had solid front axle. And, I believe, they appeared at about the same time as 90/110 (before Defenders).

are they being sold in the US? If so, where?
I recall that a Romanian (LRO?) was coming to the states a few years ago, but never made it.

Their website lists a dealership here in Salt Lake City. If I get some time in the next few days I'll swing by and report back.

I notice that their website lists the suspension turning radius as 41 feet, and the vehicle turning radius as 36 feet. Makes for a somewhat bizarre mental picture.

what the heck is a symmetrical differential anyway?

They have two websites

www.crosslander.com
www.crosslander4x4.com

each with slightly different information.

It probably just means that the diff is in the middle of the axle instead of offset to one side.

Ahh, that would make sense. Never heard it referred to that way before.
