Hello I have just begun a search for a Disco I have a budget of around $10,000. I recently found a 1997 SD (I think)with 68000 miles. This truck is absolutly loaded power leather seats dual moon roofs, jump seats, brush bar, running boards. The paint seemed good and so did the interior. The truck is listed at $9900 and the guy said he was "flexable". My question is does this truck sound too good to be true? Kelly Blue Book says the truck should go for $13500.

Thanks for any input

$9900.00 sounds fair. I paid $13,000 three years ago for a 97 SE, and just paid $12,000 for a 99 D1.

Bought mine last month. I paid $10,700.00 for a 97 SE7.
Only 69000 miles excellent condition.

That is probably a good price, especially for that many miles. I have a '94 with 118k.

One thing I will tell you is to drive, drive, drive a lot of Discoverys before buying. They are all different, and they all seem to have their own way to breaking down. I drove 6 before finding the one I bought, and I am glad I chose this one.

Also, don't fool yourself about the truck being "loaded" I am constantly getting people commenting about the leather, and power this, and that -- I have to convince them that my truck was hard to find because it has the least of the least you could buy in 1994! "It's the base model, I swear!" Only now are other car companies catching up with the likes of Land Rover in offering what they put on these trucks.

Sounds fair....well maybe...I bought my '97 SE7 in April 2003 with 78k on it for $9200 didn't have running board or the brush guard, but it was very well taken care of.

I have 96k on it now and only spent about $200 in true repairs. Spent alot more changing and upgrading things though

I paid roughly 10-11k @ a non LR-dealer for my 98 SE w/ 74k miles. I give a little price range because the dealer's a friend and he bumped up the trade in value for my car from 6k to 9.5k

I was actually looking for a blazer. I joked with my dad about getting the discovery because I figured it was way outa my price range. Suprised by the price, bought the truck and never looked back :-)

Hey malcom.... I just noticed that you go to tech. That's awesome! Let me know when you get a disco, I met a tech alumni here who said he'd show me the ropes. He's also got a mostly stock disco.
