I just thought that I would share this. Since buying my Disco on 1 November 2003, I have received no less than five (5) different surveys from marketing/research companies. Each of these surveys is 6-10 pages long and asks tons of questions.

Has Land Rover always done this? Is this Ford's influence? Or maybe a leftover BMW thing? When I bought my Jeep a few years back, I think I got one little survey from Chrystler and that was it.

Funny thing is, I never had any issues with the Jeep, but I have already had two issues sorted with The Pumpkin and one that needs to be corrected. In yesterday's rain, I discovered my Discovery has a nasty windshield leak :-( Boo.

And yes, I wrote that on my survey form. Then again, I also marked the box that said "despite any problems I love my car/truck!"

I got a funny phone call from "LRNA" yesterday. The rep. wanted to know about my "buying experience". Told her the dealer had been great in every way, but the car already had two issues...

No reply. Dead Silence - could almost make out the sound of tumbleweeds rolling by in the background though.

I sensed that the awkward pause in our conversation meant that she did not want to know about the specifics. After a while, I continued that because I already owned a Land Rover, I was accustomed to having things not work when I got it home from the dealership.

This time, she gave me an affirmative "uh-huh", and our conversation ended very shortly thereafter. She did ask for my email address - we'll see what happens now.

i got the same call, told them about the annoying rattle of the jump seats in D2's and where the load cover secure popper cuts the leather on the passenger front seats when the rear seats are folded foreward. I don't mind the surveys for land rover, great company, and...well they need all the help they can get on developing their new vehicles eh?

Cheers

Jack
