Looks nice, although I still think it looks a bit naked without a rack on top. Although I'm sure the British would wonder what all that tubing on the outside is for.

I also like the tough skid plate up front yet it has no recovery points. :-(

It is scary in Seattle today though. There is that shiny thing in the sky we never see.

It was 70 in portland today

OK, so why is 501/500 in the hands of someone taking it out (licensed in Virginia? I think?) for some photo shoot that does not look at all like an official Land Rover photo shoot for a car that is supposedly still illegal in the U.S.???? Who is Autotrends? Who owns that car an how did they get to buy it? - it's Td5 too, not 4.6, a good thing with the gas prices the way they are going. I like the interior.

Manufactuer plate hu....

I was coming back over to the Dweb to check the postings and I was going to add: any bets it shows up on eBay in the next few weeks??

But if that is a manufactuer plate, I hope for better things!

It is certainly a Jersey plate. And, it really has my attention. If this 110 is in NJ -- a new D110 TDi -- it really has my attention. How can we get more details???

It appears that sclr had a meeting at the LA auto show.

Someone figure out who drives the Disco II with the license plate "DEEP DOO" (California). Apparently they were along for the ride and should at least have info about this photoshoot.

It looks to me like:

Someone got permission for a test drive and disco II driver followed along. "Hey, pullover here and we'll get some more pictures of this baby! We can't take it off road but, ......uh...park it on that bump over there."

Now that is a nice rig - still can't get used to the roll cage on the outside of the 110's over here. Always thought they looked alot better without it. But JMHO. Now if we can only persuade LR to stop beating about the bush and re-introduce the damn thing - I can raid my piggy bank - as long as I can get one with the right specs. TDi, windup windows, standard transmission, No carpet, Cloth seats, No AC (hey I live in New England)

The truck is here being "evaluated" for reintroduction to the US market. The guy who took the photos is a club member who happened upon the truck on a recent trip.

I'd say that the truck, being in California, where it was also modified prior to SEMA, is likely being kept by a PAG staffer in the interim. NJ plate yes, but only for the moment. That truck's licensing is all screwed up anyway according to those I've talked to.

That is the CKD from SEMA, and now it's here -- must be scrapped to leave under the waiver it was brought in on. Cannot be transferred either.

You can read the thread on SCLR for more information on how and why it was at Big Bear.

I talked to the guy who had the truck in his 'custody' -- invited him on a run up to Frazier Park. But unfortunately, she's already on her way back to Brazil. It was here on a 6 month permit to Ford, to let DOT evaluate it for US market. As it stands, airbags are still required -- so no ckd's for us yet. They are going to try again with the German 110 spec, so he says.
