Looking good Don! Different from last time I took a look:-)

What's the shoreline thingy?

And are those back-up lights inside? Is there any glare from those?

If you're ever passing forestal village let me know, I'll come down take a look. Esp the HIDs!

<grin>

The shoreline thingy is nothing more than a fancy 120V power feed. It auto-disconnects on engine start (retracts the socket back into the vehicle, plug falls out). And when connected, feeds my 3-battery 30A(20,20,3) switch mode battery charger, which serves to reduce the accessory drain on my batteries to nothing plus to float charge them -- I will be taking the third battery charge line to the trailer connector block so that I can use it to charge an auxiliary radio battery in the trailer. One of these days I may also use the 120V to power a block heater.

The lights, yes, they're inside. I decided to do that because I figured the glare is only relevant on the front screen. On the rear the glare is entirely liveable and in any event I don't look through my rear screen when reversing, I use my mirrors. On the plus side, I can rotate them to illuminate the inside too, and they are protected from knocks and weather, when a vehicle tent is on the rear of the wagon they will be inside it not out which again is the right place for them, and most important of all the clearance on the vehicle is not impacted to the point of not being able to merge vehicle and garage cleanly.

Pretty cool donald. Were did you find the power feed outlet? What kind of charging system are you using and where did you mount it?

So many things to do to the truck and so little $$$$!

Secondhand part. http://www.kussmaul.com/091-73.htm

charger is a waterproof switch mode system designed for the trolling battery market OEM in UK rebadged in US. US marketing name is Promariner. Would have gone for Xantrex on cost / cct design but their systems did not meet my environmental requirements.

Donald

I saw your truck last week at ML in Pennington, do you work there or were you just visiting? Which rescue squad do you belong to?

--> Dean

(a) Because I can.

(b) So I can leave all my accessories, radios, fridge, etc. turned on and not worry about battery drain, even when I am not using the vehicle for a few days.

--> Larry

For my sins, I work there. <g>

West Windsor.

Donald

I know the feeling, I've had a 12 year sentance myself. I did some time at 300 Davidson in Somerset then my department moved to Roszel road in West Windsor and then last year we moved to Hopewell.

Good luck with your truck it looked nice.
