Thank you Land Rover - we're having a blizzard in the Northeast tonight and I got rear ended by a Nissan Exterra - you know the one "Toughness meets
innovation, and nothing gets in its way"

Damage to Discovery - none

Damage to Nissan Exterra - Destroyed front bumper, hood and grille.

This was only at 5 mph at the most - not even enough to deploy the air bags.

Nice Jeff. I've been rear ended twice with my Disco 2 in the past year. Nothing happened to me, but the Toyota Camry lost it's hood as did the BMW convertable. Their bumpers were spared as they went under my truck.

yeah, my friend just drove his subaru under the rear of a raised disco. Sufficit to say, $4000 of damage to the subaru, whereas the disco didn't have a scratch (from what I'm told.) He was in traffic and only going about 5 mph.

My Disco was 'sammiched'... the guy that hit the back took off (stolen, no insurance, whatever) and he hit it hard enough to push her into the F150 quite hard. F150 was really messed up badly. Disco only suffered bent headlamp washers. Cost me $14 for a used rear lamp lens.

was sitting waitin for someone in this tini parking lot, lady driver in a new BMW M3 backed right into the rear bumper end cap. There was a little scuff, where as it caused her, i think $6,000 in damage.

I hit a tree once :-) ... well, twice. Stuck at a narrow part of a trail, pushed forward into a sapling so I could move a little... put it in reverse then my back tire slipped into a rut and slammed my rear bumper into a tree -- damage was my endcap popped off half way, but snapped back on, and my bumper was slightly twisted. That was fixed by jumping on it a couple times :-)

I gotta say, I like the cap design on the bumpers.

I drove my Rover into one of those thick wire fences the Park Service uses to mark off trails, hitting the metal post at about 10 mph. It was unintentional of course (I couldn't see it), but all it did was pop the front left bumper/cap articulation off. A few kicks and it was good as new.

If it had been one of those Japanese SUV style metal bumpers, I'd have been shit out of luck,

a highly educated professional employed by Jiffy Lube backed my Disco into an Accord - not a scratch on the Disco, ruined weekend (or week?)for the Accord's owner.

My wife (Soccer Mom) has been backed into twice, once rear, once front. Bumper had to be replaced on each. Obviously much more damage to the perps vehicles, but the real kicker was watching thier faces when they saw the price tag. Each one said they would take care of it personally rather than turning it in to the insurance company. That is until the estimate came back......
