Why are the remotes so expensive? I have one remote and one key, dunno what the previous owner did with the other one. Is there somewhere I can buy a remote that does not cost $80!!!! Thanks. | ||

Try Ebay. I know that seems really expensive, but it is in line with what other makes charge. I am pretty sure the remote requires dealer programming. | ||

Thanks Matt. I looked in Ebay, they're all used. Wonder if it's worth buying a used one. I guess. Yeah, searched the threads and says that 97 and up need dealer programming. Sux. | ||

I also assume that the new key with integrated remote for the newer models will not work for the 97? | ||

I bought mine on Ebay. I think the going price was $12. Waaayy better than $80-$100 or whatever. In fact, that's how I got my Disco too. Just buy from someone respectable. (ie. lots of good feedback.) | ||

Have a look at http://www.remotekey.co.uk/landrover.htm I bought two remotes from there, they programmed at the dealership and they work fine. Petros |
