Anyone know of a south central PA club? Harrisburg/York area? I know of one (R.O.V.E.R.S.) that recently met in Philly, but was wondering if there is anything closer. If not, anyone interested in starting one? Maybe a chapter of another club or something.

Lots of rover owners in the area. The famous Dr. is local with his convoy of rovers.

Just checking interest.

As a fellow Yorkie "no" About 4 years ago I talked to a guy at Hoke's 4X4 in wrightsville said there is a non-rover club in MD all 4x4's welcome I can't remember the name of the club and about 6 months ago I threw out the card with the name and #. And I don't know of any place in the area to offroad (Legally) except the local mall.:-) I live by the York Hospital.

Where did you get your '03? LR Harrisburg does an event every year at Ski Roundtop. I didn't get my rover from them, so I wasn't invited, but I "volunteer" there and just stopped by during the event. I am "friendly" with the folks there (Ski Rtop). They do a bunch of off-roading the day of the event and have meals etc. A pretty decent event. Wish I could get a formal invite, or create my own event? Hint, hint. I will be living pretty close to the hospital soon. Like next week.

ROVERS is a pretty broad reaching club with members from NJ, PA, Md, and Va. The meeting in Philly was just teh general meetings for officer elections. Events are held all over the area.

Yep I bought my first Disco from them when they were Ladd Hanford then I bought the 03 in Sept.
I usually go to the Events, last years was better with all the mud and the food is always good. Are you moving to Springdale?? that is where I am located. Like Randy stated ROVERS seems to a nice club.I am a member but never go to the events except the 1st Trials event they had. I have to many hobbies and not enough time and since my better 1/2 has a bad back I don't offroad much (hunting season & dealer events)
I will keep an eye out for your Disco I usally wave eventhough most people look at me weird. Mine is a Bonatti Grey (still all stock)

No, we are moving to Marlborough, across from Apple Hill (not Homeland)off George St. Sutton Rd. I think I know your Rover. We looked in Springdale and I noticed a Rover in the neighborhood. I commented to my wife that it must be ok if there are other rover owners nearby. Rover owners in my new neighborhood too.

I know the rovers end up at some point down by the dam at rtop, but where else do they venture? I did some work for them a while back and had to take my other SUV down there. Wish I had the disco then. I would be willing to do trail maintenance if granted access. I might have to talk to Rtop about the possibility. Would be easier if I had a local non-profit rover club to back me up. Hence the initial question.

We own a summer cottage in western PA. Difficult at times to get to. Close to Ohiopyle. Some old logging and fire roads in vicinity, but not sure of the extent. USGS maps show numerous "jeep" trails. Anxious to try out the disco on some of them.

The Rover that you seen was most likely my neighbor he has a Silver one(I park in the garage). We used to have a few more but now I think it is just him and myself(he does not offroad except at the events)
I saw on your post in Baiting deer you started Fly Fishing. Do you fish the Breeches or Letort springs and many others in our area. I have not fished in a few years but I love fishing those creeks and the river for smallmouth.

I am a founding member of the board of directors for the Yellow Breeches Watershed Association. So I guess yes, I fish the breeches. But also muddy, conewago and the lakes. Also a founding member of the BOD for Watershed Alliance of York. Try fly fishing middle Yough sometime. Just below the dam. Actually the whole stretch is good, but difficult access unless you paddle. I often struggle between wanting to paddle or fish when in/on the water.
