I have removed the 3rd row seats and looking to cover up the sheet metal H-shape hole left behind. I was thinking maybe get a piece of black leather and spray some sort of adhesive and place over the hole. Any other suggestions would be great. Thank you.

Why did you remove the seats? If it was to use the area for storage, then either stretch a net across the front or add the storage bin front and lid, and just fill the space. That will cover the area, and leave the mounting place intact in case you want to remount the seat.

I wanted the extra space and have sold the seats as well. I thought about the storage bin but I thought you have to swap out the entire panel and that seemed too much time/trouble/money. The other problem is the 4 bolts that stick out about 1" or so. I thought about cutting them off but then I could never add the seats back if I ever wanted to. Another though would be to cut a piece of leather and place it over the bolts and add sort of plastic/rubber nut over the leather. This would hold the leather in place and add abumper so things wont get caught on the bolt. |

do you really gain that much more space by removing the seats? |

I think a huge amount of space - esp on the left hand side if you have rear ac (not pictured). The left hand seat protrudes probably a good 1.5 2 foot into the cargo area. On the right hand side, I regain the cubby hole space which I normally put a small cooler when off-roading. On than the small cosmetic issue, I really like have the additional space and really utilize it when Im camping/off-roading for several days. |

Can't tell by the pic how deep the hole is and if those are bolt holes on the ends of the H. Maybe aluminum sheet cut to fit the hole and painted or powder coated. You might be able to get some tie down points on it as well. |
