"useless offroad lighting", "on road tires combined with offroad modifications"?

I don't know about this. I like to wheel at night and I have more than one set of tires. I spent a lot of money on some nice offroad tires that I don't really care to destroy on the road. It cracks me up to hear what some people think is "poserish" on this board. There are a lot of things people put on their trucks that I don't agree with but who cares? Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

I have observed some posters on this board using poser to define anyone who doesn't buy the "correct" aftermarket parts.

I have always defined a poser as someone who is after the "look", but doesn't do the deed. (See full size rigs lifted onto 44's with stock drivelines)

One of the most appealing aspects of this hobby/sport/obsession is having the ability to create the type of rig you want (within your budget)

Posers want a "look at me!!" truck you can't take off pavement. To someone who enjoys off roading, that's a mockable offense. :-)

I haven't been called a "poser" exactly, but some kids at school say my truck is just for show. I'll ask them, "what makes you think my truck is just for looks?"
They'll say, "you never go "mobing" in your truck, so that means you only have it for looks."

At that point, I'm laughing my ass off. I don't know why, but the guys at my school think you need to go 40 mph down a dirt road full of mud holes to have fun.

I was hanging out with some friends, when one of them decided he wanted to take his truck out to a huge mud hole near by. We went through this thing 3 times at about 40 mph. When we got back on the pavement, the truck was bouncing severly on one side. Yes, you guessed it, he broke something in his suspension. I never found out what it was though. We just took his truck home, and left in a different car. He wasn't too worried about it, so we just left.

As far as posers go, there's lots of them where I live. Lots of big (cheap) lifts, with stock drivelines, 35's, etc...
