Hello,

we do not really want to drive some thousand or so miles (or is it two thousand) from Ohio to Colorado on our Rangie... so we thought to rent something that can tail our truck ...

But I checked out simple auto rentals and u-haul type rentals ... if they even offer a trailer - it does not support the weight of our 93 RRC :-( ... so, what could be the cheapest way to get our truck (with us) there ?:-)

Thanks

Peter, my MapPoint says that it's 21 hour drive ;) ... we already drove through Denver and it's no way 1-day drive (as far as I remember). 1400 miles ...

With our old Rangie it's better to save those 1400 miles ;) ... though, most probably, we end up driving there on our own anyway

I've found that the auto transporters can haul my Defender for far less than it costs me to drive it long distances. Dependable Auto Shippers moved it from California to North Carolina for $945.

I've driven from Detroit to Boulder in one day - it's a long drive, but doable. It's much more of a PITA to drive a UHaul truck with a trailer than it is a (even very old) Rangie.
Just don't go faster than 75, and you'll get there!

Check to see if there's a train or train station around. I know my aunt went to florida by train one time. Then you don't have to worry about driving or findin a place to stay, (hotel) you can be on the train travelling overnight.

the train service was by Amtrak and it was only to Florida from VA..

I've used Barnes Auto Transportation 800-542-3123 a few times now to get the LRs to ECR from Tulsa. Geat folks and reasonable. Had a RR shipped from SoCal to Tulsa for $650 by them as well.
