I have a 1967 IIA with a Weber 2X barrel carb and manual choke. How do you adjust the idle RPMs? With the choke closed the Rover runs about 2K RPMs and I want to decrease it to 1K. I can not find it in the Haynes manual anywhere. Thanks |

Weber wasn't the factory carb, thus not in the manual..... originally was either a Solex or a Zenith.
Down at the bottom, item #56, is the idle adjusting screw. -L |

why would you want to adjust the rpm when the choke is closed. adjust it when it is warm and with the choke off (open). dont forget to set mixture setting as well. try of 600-700 rpm. check your tail pipe if there is black soot there then mixture is too rich. |

The idle screw is what the throttle linkage rests against when idling. On back of carb towards bulkhead. Slotted bolt head is on opposide side (linkage rests against the threaded part). Trace throttle cable until you hit this. Just fiddled around with mine today! |
