Engine oil? There's a rather tall post towards the front of the engine, on the same side as the distributor, has a cap on top of it. (assuming a 2.25... if a different engine has been installed, who knows....)

There's not a dip-stick for manual transmissions (or even new DII automatic transmissions). There's a fill-plug on the transmission... you open it up and if fluid leaks out, it's full enough, and if not, you add fluid up to that point. Don't cnfuse the fill-plug with the drain plug, BTW......

Get a copy of the Workshop Manual. It's also available online, might take a bit of searchin', but, I'll look for ya....

Hey Brad while you're down there....changing the trans oil don't forget the transfer case and the swivel balls and the front and rear diff. The smell of gear oil is like tequila. The first few times its some nasty s..t but then it grows on you. Best of luck to you. Any questions don't be afraid to ask. Do get the green bible its worth every penny. Thats the workshop manual by the way.

When filling the air filter I just patched it with J.B. weld. Do I fill the middle or the outside of the filter with oil all the oil drained out so I don't know where it goes I know I use 1.5 pints

Brad,
fill both the middle and outer ring of the filter base with the cheapest motor oil you can buy (K-mart blue light special, 20,30 40Wt it doesn't matter, $0.79 qt) You'll notice the inner ring has a hole that matches the level of the stamped "oil fill" mark on the inside of the outer hull.
Good luck
Jude

Does anyone know where to get a couple gallons of Paint for these I am going to take the panels off and repaint and remove some dents. I found some paint from paddock spares, but I would like to find some closer like in the U.S.
thank you Brad

Any paint store.... all you need are the paint codes for whatever paint you want.

Or, use Rustoleum spray cans..... :-)

Well, it depends on the dent, actually.... if it's a wing, and it's not crinkled, it may be easy enough to pop it back. If metal's torn, aluminum is rough to weld, and replacing is better. Thatched Roof Garage, RDS, good places to check if you need bits....

But, some dents are keepers, too.... :-)
