My '67 sat for the winter and a few weeks ago, upon driving it for the first time since last fall, I've experienced some transmission trouble. Pulling out of the driveway, the shifter seemed a little more stiff than usual, but it did shift through all the gears. Reaching the bottom of the road, I backed into a driveway and when I went to engage first or second gear, the shifter wouldn't let me... only third and fourth worked. I managed to climb uphill to my house in third. After backing into my driveway, I tried engaging the gears again, except this time the shifter wouldn't except any forward gears, just reverse (with no resistance). I've removed the tunnel cover but can't seem to get the top cover to the gearbox off to expose the selector rods and springs. What Should I be looking for? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this truck has to be towed cross country in a week or two.

Thanks,
