Ok before I do something stupid how have you guys wired lights on your series trucks? The previous owner had two lights mounted to the brush guard and now I want to get them working but want some guidance on how it has been done in the past.

Just make sure you get a suitable harness for the lights you use. Good info here:

http://catalog.com/susq/other/harness.htm

I wired Hella 4Ks up with my dip switch and unswitched power using a SPDT center-off rocker, mounted the relay on the bulkhead, only have to run one wire into the cabin to the switch.

It's pretty easy to trace the wires when you remove the instr plate, a test light helps too.

If I'm not mistaken, the white/blue to the main beam indicator on the instr cluster is the dip switch (sames as the my D2 as well). You'll be able to find unswitched power easily too just by looking around for a lead that runs something unswitched (like a dome light).

Got my spots/driving lights wired up via a relay actuated by the high beam wire.

Hit highs and I have LIGHT!

One of these days going to wire up the headlights with relays to lessen the voltage drop from the wiring.
