Some of the companies here in the US offered the header in the 80s, its not common but not rare either. -Ike |

LOL! The original engine setup is suppsed to be: a carburetor sitting on top of the intake manifold, which splits to deliver to the four in-line cylinders; directly below, is the exhaust manifold, collecting from the four cylinders into one exhaust pipe... sounds like all is well with yours. My suggestion: get a Green Bible, now! -L PS: If you've not been there before, check out Jim's site.... http://www.bayourovers.com/ |

Ike, You snuck in there.... I don't think he's looking at a header, really... I mean, maybe he is, but, it may just be the factory manifold.... FWIW.... -L

If i may, this is a 4 into 1 collector that collects down by the leaf spring, and it looks like a 2" collector, after that is a reducer that takes it down to the stock exaust pipe with a boogered weld, looks like there are no leaks though! I have just never seen one with a header before, or at the parts whare houses, i will be leaving it on and seeing how tight it is to the starter!, when i get the thing to run i'll see how it sounds! Does anyone have any expirence with a set up like this??? Peter. |

Yeah, I had one on my '69 88" over 20 years ago. Didn't notice any change in performance, other than it got louder. Put on a Rochester single from B.P. or if you are brave, a 32/36 DGV weber conversion. You will definitely notice MO'POWA'. OR put in a Chev small block V-8, an NV4500 5-speed full synchro bullet proof transmission (transfer case is just fine for all but the most radical V-8 power), parabolics, change the rear diff to a 4-pin 24 spline carrier, and power steering. . You can do 50 ft. burn-outs (if the mood strikes), the Rubicon will be like taking candy from a baby and the stuff that is weak and breaks on Rovers will never break again. You will never want to drive anything else I have seen the real deal. |
