Is it possible to add AC to a SIII? I live in South Carolina, and feel I might need it if I buy one.

why? don't the front vents open Greg?? feel your need as its getting into Summer in OK and riding in the IIa is like riding in blast furnace. there is plenty of air - just all HOT!

my guess and only a guess is for the right sum of money it might be possible as its pretty close to a D90 inside.

feel sure others will give you a better answer though.

Got A/C in mine!

Took the top off!

:-)

Seriously, with the top off (got a J**p Bikini top on it) it's a helluva lot cooler than with the top on!

Get a nice breeze going and it's cooler.

Looks good too!

If anyone can do it, Vintage Air will be able to provide AC.

Greg,

I have A/C....Assisted Cooling!!!

I went to K-Mart (when they were going out of business here) and bought a cigarette lighter-powered 12V fan. It REALLY cools me off and it cost me like 15 bucks. Also I can pull it off or put it on in 5 seconds.

Real A/C would be nice. There is a guy down in Florida that does work on Rovers and he puts A/C in. Can't remember the website but its in Florida.

Just checked that link out.

He only installs it on Rovers he sells or refurbs; then at a tune of $2700.

I can buy a lot of Iced drinks for that!

Will-

I used a Bestop Simple Bikini for a CJ-5 J**P.

Had to modify the header rail that fits on top of the windscreen-had to hacksaw off the curved part.

I have a roll cage in the "Aardvark" so had no problems with the rear mounting. Keith Tanner used electrical Conduit for his hoop (don't have the link readily availiablr for his install.

Go to http://pub145.ezboard.com/fgunsandroversfrm7.showMessage?topicID=3.topic for a pic of my wee beatie with the top on.
