Well, I made it. I drove from San Francisco, California to Boston, Mass in the '64 series IIa with only a few minor problems in five days. I will be writing up a proper trip report that I will post on here if anyone is interested when I get the time. |

Great!! A few minor problems in 5 days!!?? That is insanely good reliability !! I'm glad to hear about the older trucks doing great stuff like that. I hope to take my 109 on such a trip one day... Max T. All of a sudden I'm adventurous! |

A friend of mine drove from NH to SoCal last fall for school in 5 days also. BUT, while he was out there he rolled his 88" destroying the drivers door, windshield and soft top. He recently drove back in this state, stopping in arizona for a few days. On the way back he drove through the torrent of rain we recently had here in the northeast. To top it off he didn't stay in hotels, his truck was his suite! Only problem he had along the way was a bad front u-joint on the way out west! Gotta love that series spirit! Jason Truscott |
