Hi everyone,

Kinda new to to Discoweb. I've been meaning to get on here and post some pictures, but I finally got reinspired to post since I've got a hold of my 'new' Series III, "Murphy". I'm all about hearing some rants/raves and good opinions(!). Either way I'm all smiles right now.

Of course, this picture doesn't really give it justice, I've been trying to make a little site for it, you can take a gander at:

http://homepage.mac.com/ericearlyang/Rovers

The site's got a way (long way) to go, but hey, its a start. I'll probably post a couple of the projects that have happened so far...

Eric Y.

Thanks!

Murphy

Eric,

You need a BIG beach ball. Something bigger two-feet in diameter. Three feet might do.....

What you want to do is, pop off that rear cargo area cover, and place the beach ball into the rear tub. Then replace the cover.

The big beach ball will hold the cover up, so that water won't collect in it and weigh it down, making it sag. Then, if you have to haul something, you can deflate the ball. Then, blow it back up once needed again.

You've got a very clean Rover. Take good care of it, it deserves it.

Eric: congrats, I love the look of a pick-up cab. Now drive that thing!
BTW, are you sure the parabolics were made by OME?

Leslie - ha! that's hilarious. Maybe I should drop a big oversized bottle of Corona up there and make it look like one of those "sponsored" SUV's they have driving around.

David - regarding the parabolics, maybe I'm wrong on thinking they're OME, heavens knows I'm far from knowing everything about that Rover. They might be british springs or the like. Its just what I was told, maybe it was just in reference to the shocks which I know are OME because they've still got the labels.

Has anyone had experience with the TI Console Power steering kit? Great Basin sells them for $1k and I'm thinking about it for the Rover because my father wants to drive it, but is a bit elderly and has difficulty with the steering as is.

For power steering, talk to Timm Cooper at BCB - 805-237-0738. He prefers GM V-8's and NP gearboxes, but he might be of some assistance.
If thats a dead end, I know a guy who put a Scout II box in his. I can put you in contact with him if neccesary.(sp)

Whoa, I didn't even see your last posting on here Eric, thanks for the info. I guess I clicked on another thread before the "new" avatar loaded. I'll give Timm a buzz. I wish I could find something as intended for the Land Rover as possible - perhaps wishful thinking unless I can get that TI Console kit by some stretch.
