I am looking for pictures and/or specs from any of you who might have put a full roll cage on their Series II 88". I would like to build a roll cage that would fit WITH the hard top, so that I can have it on during the winter. I would like the roll cage to LOOK the part, so as not to be intrusive on the classic lines etc. I would also like it to be able to accept a soft top when the hard top is off(with or without sides) for use during the summer months. My idea is that it would be full length and have the same basic dimentions of the soft top hoop set, but to be strong enough to provide safety in a roll over. Any photos, advice from someone who has done something like this? Thanks. |

RB: seem to recall that ECR has done what you're thinking of. www.eastcoastrover.com, look at their series page or their roll cage page. DW |

That is very nice, I am not looking for the Defender look around the front windshield however, but the Defender interior cage is basically what I am looking for. Again, I would like it to be almost completely invisible when the hard top is on, but usable as a frame for the soft top when the hard top is off. The main thing is that it is not an idea living in my head alone - those ideas are often scary, or just plain stupid. The picture in my head is with a soft top over the cab, soft top over the cargo area, solid door tops with no glass in them, and no sides in the rear area. Post #700!

R.B., Surf the entire ECR site. They have done an interior cage before that doesn't look like the d-90's. It is an older restoration. Looked real sharp. Personally, I think that Series trucks do not look that great with the defender style cage on them. EwS |

Matt Jackson at BCB Offroad in Paso Robles, California, has a full, internal roll cage. Check their website - www.bcboffroad.com 1)I don't know if he can get a hard top on. 2)When I drove it, I didn't even notice it. 3)It's got a 327 with a SM4somethingorother 4-speed. Parabolics, 33's and air lockers. - Rubicon killer. |

"almost completely invisible when the hard top is on, but usable as a frame for the soft top when the hard top is off." These are mutually exclusive. The soft top takes up the same space as a hard top so you either need to do one or the other. Ron
