My lightweight seems to pop out in first gear -- whether in high or low, 2wd or 4wd -- but only when engine braking downhill. During hard or soft acceleration in first gear (hi or low) it's fine. I tried holding the gear lever up, but that just leads to a lot of grinding. I choose to just live with it until the gearbox totally craps out or I sell it. Bruce (S3 109)
