OK, I am looking for your general responses to this little experiment.

I have noticed that there is a great difference in the looks I get while driving my IIa with the tyre on the bonnet as compared to not. Without the tyre, people generally give me the, "Cool old Jeep dude!" look.

But with the tyre on the bonnet I get the, "What in the world, and where can I get my own?" look. People tend to stop in the parking lot and look a lot longer also.

Give me your feedback

When I go out of the house wearing my bonnet vs. not wearing it, many more people look at me when I have the bonnet on.

It makes a lot of people smile. Of course, if they were to inquire on how to get thier own, I simply couldn't do it. I would never part with my bonnet.

Tom,

That's not bad. It's nice actually. I was afraid you were going to wear one of those paper ass gaskets from the office toilets...

Andy, the easy way is to buy a hood. I can sawzall mine out if you are interested. $50 shipped.

Its off a SIII non deluxe hood. It will fit a SII/IIA non deluxe but you cannot fit one onto a SII/SIIA deluxe without a dish in the center (these were never intended to have spare mounts)

You know, it is amazing what pictures you can find doing a yahoo search on "bonnet". I wonder who the hell this guy is, and why he would post that on the web.

Too much effort. have to drill out the rivits, easier to sawzall. If you were here you could have the whole hood for $20 but its the time and effort that is why I ask for 50. I am sure if you look you can find one local and cheap.
