Anyone ? I've seen it done, and would like to do it this winter, amidst my restoration of pappy.

Get a new frame made for it, get a pair of RR axles (or Defender or Disco,), and springs and shocks.

Do the frame swap.

Simple, eh?

Andy, the '67 IIa that Doug S. drives actually is a Range Rover drive train, frame, and suspension, (and maybe another Rover or two thrown in there somewhere.)

By the way, did you go to the All British Field Meet? I was thinking I might look for you there, but then forgot.

I don't ever know when these meets take place, plus Pappy isn't in good shape yet. I need to get onto some sort of an email list so I know when to go...I'd like to meet some folks and go wheelin' with them..

What am I missing. I just bought a 71 siia and it has the leaf springs and shocks. Did they originally equip the iia with out shocks and only leaf springs?

Thomas,

That's right, it had shocks and leaf-springs.

It's possible via frame and axle swap, or, frame modification and spring perch alteration, to convert a leaf-sprung Rover into a coil-sprung Rover, if so inclined.

The ride is OK. The old owner put military shocks in back and I am unsure about what is up front. How much improvement is going to be seen and is it worth it if it doesn't bother me right now.
