I'm still pretty new to the disco and from reading dweb it seems that a lot of broken parts can be avoided with preventative servicing.

With that said, is there any way I can get a D1 service manual? I want something that specifies how to change the brakes, the ATF, the diff fluid the brake fluid, as well as where the greaseable joints are and how often they should be greased.

Just something so I can do all the reg stuff w/o paying an arm and a leg for the dealer. I have a mechanic friend who can give me a hand, but he's never worked on a rover before.

Thanks

Dave,

I use the Land Rover Discovery shop manual. Itas around $100 at Amazon. the one for the D2 is a bit more.

Haynes also publishes a manual for the discovery and its a lot cheaper.

Fianlly, there is a RAVE CD usually available on E-bay.

And of course, there is the body of knowledge in dweb and its members.

Have fun doing your own work. Its especially rewarding when yoou realize how much you save.
