Hi everyone, a friend of mine owns a 2001 Freelander and he had it for just 6 months (7K miles on it), driving it only inside the city, no offroading. Yet the car has just developed a problem that he doesn't understand why it did, nor does the local dealer. A lot of the times, the car won't start apparently due to excess gas sprayed on the spark plugs. If he waits long enough, it will ultimately start. It seems to me that the cause of this is one of two things, either the fuel injectors went bad and are spraying excessive gas, or the gas pressure regulator went bad. But the question is, how is it possible for this to happen to a Freelander with just 7K miles on it, is that common? Could the fuel injectors go bad that fast, or is the problem possibly something different that I didn't mention? Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

its a 2002 ..... went to the dealer to have the fuel gage repaired. the dealer seems to think the it may be related to it having problems starting.....don't see how???? |

That's fucked up. Please let me know what happens. I bought a 2002 on Friday. I absolutely love it. The only problems so far are that the sub-woofer is not working & that it is pulling to the right a little bit. I'm taking it back this week to have that fixed. It's an awesome car otherwise. |
