I'm trying to get the factory Alpine alarm working in my '92 RR. I just bought an original remote. So now I have everything, just need to figure out how to get the remote to work with the system...

I’ve read that with ’93 models, you’d open the access door on the alarm ECU, insert the chip from the remote in the slot in the ECU, then turn the key on and press a small button next to the chip slot to allow that remote chip to be used. I’ve found the alarm ECU in my ’92, but it doesn’t appear to have a button next to the slot (there are 2 dip switches though). It also already has a chip in there. I’m wondering if you might have to have 2 matched chips for this system? Or is there some way to make it work?

Please e-mail me if you can help. Any input is greatly appreciated!

No one here has a '92 with the factory Alpine alarm and knows how to setup a remote for it? :-(
