The door to my gas tank no longer opens when you press the button the steering column. And it's not the fuse. So what gives, I'm tired of prying my door open everytime I need some gas...which is quite often. Anyone know what this could be and how difficult of a fix it is? |

It might be the fuel door actuator unit. Do you hear anything when you push the button? Check your switch and wiring too. If it is the actuator unit, you can get to it through an access door to replace it. If you have the factory subwoofer unit, you will have to remove it to get to the access door.

You may also want to check the spring that kicks the door open when the actuator releases it. The hinges on that door are easily bent so be sure the door is not getting caught up on anything. |

This happened to me at a gas station one time. Upon checking everything I found no problem. It hasn't happened since but I suspect there's a ground issue somewhere in the circuit. Shame there isn't a manual release built into the system. Ali |
