235/85-16 vs. 265/75-16 Now that I know that the soon to be mine RRC has a 2" OME MD lift, I am planning on picking up a set of mudders to run during the summer. I'll run the 205's for winter. Reading through http://www.rangerovers.net/rrtires.html it looks like with a bit of steering stop adjustment, and a small sheetmetal nip and tuck, I'll be able to fit these. Any opinions either way? I'm looking for slightly used ones, so it may just come down to what I find. Please discuss, all opinions welcome.

I am running 235/85/16 and had to adjust the steering stops out but did not have to do any trimming. If I had to get new tires, I would probably choose the 265/75/16, gives a little bigger footprint. I have been in several situations where a bigger footprint would have given me a little more bite and traction, but either size works well for a 2" OME lift. |

I have 265/75/16 and haven't had to do any trimming. The steering stops are not long enough, so I need to get longer bolts to stop the hits on my radius arms. The biggest thing I have seen, is the lack of power. I am awaiting my new 4:11's and lockers. Hope that helps. |

Do the 235/85's feel overly "tippy going around corners? Just wondering since the sidewall is so tall and it is pretty narrow. |

i have 265/75 on my range rover and perviously had 235/75 on my Disco. i considered 255/85 but like 265/75 the lack of turning radius pisses me off on a daily basis. so 235/85 for everyday driving when these wear out (soon). the footprint thinG matters where you offroad at. i've always made it where everyone went before me with 235/85... and some places they didn't. rd |

The 235's are not tippy at all, with the stiffer OME springs it actually handles much better than stock. |

the 235/85 tires are usually Load Rated to "E" and 265/75 is "D" and feels squishier. 235/85 typically like to be run at 45-55 psi to feel best onroad.
