Well, after months and months of looking for "the right" '95 LWB, I drove home today in our new (to us) '99 HSE Callaway (#201/200). Had the PPI and compression test done yesterday at the LR dealer, and tonight, the rig is in our garage. It's a one-owner truck, in impeccable mechanical and cosmetic condition. I'd say it needs nothing, but that's just because I haven't yet gotten around to going through my stacks of Atlantic British and Rover's North catalogs!

THANKS to Axel & Co. for DWeb and to all the members of the LR/RR community who were so patient and willing to share their experiences and guidance during my protracted search. Happy Holidays to all. Best wishes for a healthy, safe season and New Year.

nice find; did you get it in green? The extra oomph from the engine tweaks makes it a very fun vehicle to drive. the main thing with it is the dual chrome exhausts (they reduce the departure angle a bit)

Ours is Niagara Grey/Ash combo. We saw a nice Epsom Green one, but it had no verifiable maintenance history, so... The chrome tips do diminish the departure angle a bit, but that surely can be tweaked;-) No question, the improved lower-end torque over the stock engine is much appreciated, but it's still pretty modest. I've always questioned why they limited the enhancements to motor and cosmetics only, with no upgrades to the suspension and brake elements. Not that I've noticed any deficieny in those areas so I susupect that it'd take a whole lot more engine oomph to make those mods necessary.

I tried to respond to your email the other day on this but it kept bouncing . . . anyway, it sounds good. Best of luck!

Thanks, John. Maybe it was a holiday glitch in the ethernet? Best wishes for a healthy, happy, and safe New Year!
