Got a column switch (missing when I got the truck). I can hear the washer fluid pump engage but get no action at the wiper. Fuses and connections look OK. What am I missing? |

More than likely the motor is on the out and out. Check the motor. It is right behind the headliner in the very rear. Middle behind the actual wiper arm. If needed I can find you one. Will |

First you need to check if the current really arrives at the wiper. In case: there is a check-procedure printed in the Electr.Troubleshooting-Manual from Rover. p/m if you want a copy. [email protected] someone on a local b/b noticed that his wiper motor was fine but the shaft which emerges from the wiper-gearbox and carries the wiper arm was badly corroded and coulnt be turned by the motor any more. He dismantled the complete wiper assy to clean that shaft and rebuilt it with grease and made it perfectly working again. If interested I could try to translate his step-by-step instructions. |

the doors have to be closed for the rear wiper to work. I almost took my whole head liner out trying to fix it. |

Nick, I'd gladly trade mine with you. It works anytime it wants to, without my intervention. |

The Rover is certainly a puzzle master's vehicle. Forget cryptographs, word jumbles and crosswords, buy a used Rover and figure out the quirks! I have noticed that as I figure out and fix somethings, others stop working or start leaking!!! |
