Already did a search, but can't find anything related to my problem. Installed new rear rotors and pads on my '93 RRC LWB. Everything was fine until the test drive. Now I don't have ABS and have a constant pulsing in the brake pedal every time I apply the brakes. Pedal feels normal otherwise and no lights remaining on the dash. The only other unusual item is that normally when starting up the Rover, the ABS, ETC, and parking/brake pressure fluid lights would remain on for a period of time. The ABS light remains on and then goes off after the normal above 5 mph, but the other two go out with all the other dash lights. What does that mean and what do you think the problem is with my brakes? Any suggestions as to what to look for would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Darren |

The other two lights are supposed to go out with the rest of the warning lamps. Sounds like you need to bleed your brakes. -P |

Is there a special procedure to discharge the ABS before you change pads for the RRC? I know there is for the 4.0/4.6. I agree with Perrone - bleed those brakes! And discharge the ABS as recommended in the manual before you bleed them (if such a procedure exists). |

Probably do need a full bleed. Follow the manual to the letter when you do as it needs to be in that order for all 13 bleeders. A power bleeder is invauable for this job. Also - how long is your pump running upon startup - should only be about 35-40 seconds. Bill |

Sorry gang. I should have posted an update. Got the pulsing out of the pedal, but lead to the ABS and ETC lights staying on constantly. Turned out to be a bad rear sensor. Is there anyway to disable the ABS and ETC on an RRC? I see the Discos are a simple pull of a fuse, but it appears that on the RRCs the only way is a complete pre-1990 brake conversion. Is this true or does someone know a simple by-pass? I hate ABS and I don't like the way the ETC works especially off-road. |

RRC system cannot be bypassed or unplugged without losing rear brakes completely and 50% of front brakes!! Either fix it or do a complete non-ABS system conversion Bill |
