Just got my DAP fender flares and will probably install them this weekend. Just wondering would there be any interest in the same flare made from a plastic material and cheaper price. |

Orlando, If you are talking about the fiberglass flares that are originally made by Rangie Spares (which I have on my Disco in the gallery) then it is not wise to make then in rubber format since these flares are supposed to be structural, and a lad in Aust. called Wayne Smith (RFC, OBC, and other challenge champion) was experimenting with rubber flares and it was a no go. Anyways, keep us posted. |

I personally would only be interested in them if they were soft. I would be so afraid of ripping them off in the tight trees/brush in FL. And they arent cheap! |

Gordon, Email Rangie Spares (address at the office, sorry) and let them send you a pic of an OBC competitor that rolled and see how the flares stood up to the abuse. I know from mine that I was very impressed and had the rear "door" flare once leaning on a tree, but I altered my line so that I did not have most of the weight on it. |

I was afraid of that myself so had thought of making them out of a plastic material like the aftermarket ones that warn makes. |

Yeah, I had the same issue and discussed it with Wayne Smith a couple of years back before purchasing mine, but he did a test set and they were not structurly sound so he decided to stick to the Fiber Glass ones. Anyways, that is all the help I can give you. FWIW mine are TOUGH. |

Wow I really did not think they were that solid. I had looked at them when I bought my 255/85 but did not have to do much cutting to make them fit so I opted out. They look good for sure! Gordo |

Guys, Had a small incident this weekend with the truck on its side...won't say much other than the fact that the flares held up :

Because the panels on the Disco are VERY thin (2mm alum) and once you cut it all up, you can litterally move the things without any new effort. |

Ed, None in the GCC, however you can order from www.devon4x4.com (UK), Rangie Spares (Aust, the original manufacturers), or DAP (US). I got mine directly from RS and they cost me a better part of 450USD before shipping but they were WELL work it! |
