Hi Guys,
well, after a lot of phone calls, searching the web and asking for advice from fellow Discoweb users, I bought my first RR yesterday. It's a 2000 4.6HSE in black with tan leather interior, optional factory roof rack and mud flaps, rubber mats and Harman/Kardon sound, with 47,000 miles. I paid $29,750 for it from a LR dealer in Boise, Idaho. Plus $1,900 for the additional 3 yr warranty. I love it! Drove it home and was very impressed by the ride, quietness and power. Heck, I managed 19mpg for a while- better than my D1! The insurance is absolutely horrible- as expected. I am going to get a set of 16" rims for the studded snow tires I already have. (It has the 18's) where is the best place to find 'stuff' for it? Other than Ebay and Atlantic British? Thanks again for all your help and advice- much appreciated!

Expedition Exchange for mods. British Pacific is in the north L.A. area. for routine stuff.
Join PNWR -Pacific Northwest Rovers. Active in Wash. and Ore. and prolly in Id. Good group.
Wise Owl in in Vancouver, B.C., but I think he's mostly a Series guy.

Don't forget Rovers North: they had a few bits for my RRC that the local dealer said were not made any longer! Pricey but they can get their hands on all types of stuff.

Congrats on the purchase!

I'm surprised about the insurance, I myself was really surprised by how reasonable it was (I have a 2001).

In Australia, the comprehensive insurance for my '95 4.6 HSE is several hundred dollars cheaper than the insurance on my wife's '94 Ford Probe.

Dito on the extended warrentee very good move. Your situation sounds like my own but it was a 96 in 2000. Just make sure you keep looking into www.rangerovers.net for "heads-up-information" on things that can go wrong as the warrentee comes to an end. The dealerships hire alot of technicians, and not many real mechanics, some of which are unfortunately aloud to conduct warrentee repairs. Oh the stories I could tell. Were is the campfire I have one brewing I can feel it starting to materialize just as I write!... Whew it went away. Thank goodness ones memory fades the older you get, so you can make room for more wisdom.
