Does anyone have expierience with fitting 265x75x16 tyres on their RR. How has this affected the vehicle in daily and offroad use? Which tyre types have you got fitted MT or AT |

I have BFG MT 265/75/16 tires on my 96 4.0se. You will notice the power reduction due to the larger size, but not too bad, any larger and I would regear. 4.6 would probably handle the larger tires better. My 4.0 is slow in the first place so it wasn't too bad with the larger tires. The BFG MT's are suprisingly quiet on-road and handles pretty good too, I use it as a daily driver but don't have a very long commute. I have also made a couple long trips with the MT's without any adverse effects or problems. Off-road is where the MT's shine. |

O.K Ive got the 4.6 with this size on in a BFG All terrain style tread, same size. The 4.6 does seem to handle this fairly well but then the rest of the RR isn't stock either. On the way to Moab I got here up to 110 MPH and thats topped out with Borla, Power Chip and a conical shaped K&N air filter in the OEM air box. I agree with Alan they are comfortable and may rub a bit when you cross up the axels. I believe www.rangerovers.net has some fellow in there with some first hand experience with OEM suspension and what happens when off roading with this size tire. |

I think I will probably settle for 245/75x16 as this is also within 5% of the original tyre size, so wont need approving here in Norway. |

I have 245/75x16 Goodyear MTR's on mine and they are OK on full lock in both standard and high. They will rub on full lock in low. Off-road the fronts can catch on the rear of the wheel arch where the mud guards are but on on full suspension compression. You can easily fix this by taking of front mud guards. Cheers Steve |
