Some of the door locks on my 1997 HSE are jammed. The passenger door is stuck locked, the tailgate won't lock, and when I push the inside button from the driver's side to lock the doors, the driver's door locks, but none of the others do. When i lock the truck from outside, the doors on the driver's side lock, but the ones on the passenger side don't. Has anyone else had this problem, or know what to do about it? please help!

That happened to me once. I drove it around for a while, then restarted the car once or twice and it worked again. Goodluck. Robert

John,
The passenger side front lock has a couple of micro switches in it which recieve the signal from the drivers side door. From what I understand the passenger side lock is the main one as it would be with right hand rive in England. So it commands all the others as the main lock by design. The electric motor and solenoid in the lock delivers the motion to actuate the micro swithches which command the others to follow suit when the lock is actuated. If this locks mechanism has failed it might exhibit your problem as you have expressed. My experience was the passenger side lock becomming superlocked and I couldn't open the door. I had to lower the window and pry the interior panel aside and smash open the top of the locks housing with my biggest flat blade and a small sledge to remove the coil spring which gkeeps the latch set. I have the service bulletins on how to do this if you think you need to get the door open. The latch mechanism is really quite a complicated design when you take a look at the guts of it. Mine had a small piece that had snapped off thus superlocking the blasted latch for good. The other doors were still working though. There are a bunch is small plastic cams and leavers which actuate the micro switches. My gues is some of that is not working correctly. If this is the case you will have to purchase a new door latch as you have to distroy the one in the door to get it to open. The guys at www.offroadtuff.com gave me a sweet deal on a new latch. Good luck and email me off line if you need the LRSB on the procedure to get the latch to open. atgparker@cox.net
