Just wanted to pass a hello to the group! I'm now a first time Range Rover Classic ( '93 County LWB in 'Roman Bronze') owner since two weekends ago! While not a hard-core off-roader, I do enough snowboarding/backpacking/moutaineering (and need the added utility for miscellanoues chores), that it became something I thought I needed. Not to mention my long-time love off British cars in general (although from afar). This is my first British car ever after many years of only Mercedes-Benz automobiles (many old diesels, and a '95 E420 currently), so I'm stepping outside of my comfort zone signifigantly :-O. I'm an avid DIY'er when I have time, so I'm hoping many of the 'idyosycracies' of the Rover will prove easily handled by someone with my basic-to-intermediate DIY-skills. So far, I'm impressed and intrigued further by this beast. Some things are amazingly robust while others seem well....less so An interesting combination to be sure. I bought it from a private owner, 102k mi, no idiot lights on, AC is resonsive and cold. Cleaning the idle Bypass Valve did seem to 'free up' the idle (less restriction for sure), but a shuddering still exists that I need to track down. Also, (surprise!) the air suspension works erratically, although it _does_ pump itself up and down, although the rightside of the vehicle wants to stay higher. Armed with my officla LR Workshop manual and expertise of this board, I'm hoping to get this thing nice and dialed-in Thanks for the bandwidth! Ryan Seattle, WA |
