yes, the third memeber will swap.

If you have a Pre ABS RRC then the Disco Axels wont fit.

Also there might be an issue of the drive shaft bolting up because of rotoflex.

Keep in mind this is hardly an upgrade as you also have a weak link within both 10 spline and 24 spline diffs.

What year is your Ranger?

hey rob.
its is a 1992 with abs. what is the week link with the 24 spline? i thought these were the way to go. also thinking of adding the detroit locker and regearing. with that said then will the series 24 spline diffs fit the rangie?

the weak link in the diff itself is the cross pin, they break frequently.

the 24 spline it self is _better_ than 10 spline. my point was only that both 10 and 24 spline diffs are prone to blowing up under heavy use.

If you upgrade to 24 spline Detriot , TT or ARB or something then you have just elimnated the weak cross pin problem. Now your only concern is axle breakage, which is why when anyone says Detroit is usually followed by HD axles.

to get back to the point. if a buddy of yours had a Disco1 with Detroit locker and he totaled the truck or something and you wanted the parts , yes they would bolt right up.

i see then, so i guess the right way to go about this is to go with 24 spline hd half shafts. with the detroit locker? thanks

I just bought some used diffs from a buddy of mine. Bill at GB Rovers built them. 4.11 gears and my buddy said he put in some D2 cross shafts in them that are much stronger. Has anyone ever heard of this?
I have seen the cross shaft break even under normal use so I can see where this would be a weak link.
