I lost my d1 in december after getting t-boned. I've been considering a RRC in the 1995my. I've noticed there is a 3.9 and a 4.2. Which is best? Pros and cons... |

The 4.2 comes with the long wheel base LWB model. The 3.9 comes in the short wheel base SWB model. LWB has a better ride on the road, whereas the SWB is better for offroad. Both have disco-style dash and air suspension. Hope that helps! |

LWB means LOADS of rear seat legroom, and it had more options over the SWB, too. |

Alyssa is reaaly on target as until you see and/or sit in the rear seat of a LWB, you can't appreciate the difference. I wheeled my LWB pretty hard without problems. Just remember hitch has hit in it and its a nice feature on rocks! go for the LWB assuming that its in the better of the two condition wize which is a whole other kettle of fish. many threads in the archives on this topic. 4.2 LWB if you ever have people in the back seat. Otherwise the SWB is fine. LWBs seem a bit snappier on road, the 4.2 more than makes up for the bit of extra weight. Ron |

I've had many times full growns in the back for longer stretches in my SWB. The LWB gives you those few extra inches for the back passengers. Visually .. I like the looks of the SWB better but that is just my 2 cents. The 4.2 does give you that extra little bit of umph though when you would go up in the mountains hauling 5 audults and lots of gear.
