I am replacing the front driveshaft on my 1995 RRC. I have ran into a few probs. First, when I was bolting it back to the xfer case I couldn't get it to turn. Yes everything was in neutral. Second, it would seem that I am about an inch and a falf short. The new shaft matches the old one. Am I crazy? |

To get the driveshaft to turn, jack up one of the front tires with the trans or xfer case in neutral (e-brake off so chock the back wheels). As far as the shaft being too short - just pull it to make it reach - there is a slip joint in the middle of the shaft to account for suspension travel. The shaft stretches and compresses a few inches (assuming you have the right drive shaft). |

Thanks mate. I def. have the right shaft. Can't get it to pull out or push in though. I'll go try again. |

If it doesnt push or pull then something isnt right. it might be seized. Take off the dust seal and get it apart (be sure to mark it first!). Ive used hammers to do this. Grease it regularly and you wont have this problem. Gordo |
