Most of the P38 Rangys have these white felt-like covers on the A B and C pillars in the interior. On just about every car I have seen, the felt is coming off and in really bad shape. Has anyone ever removed them ? Was it a PITA getting them off, anything to pay attention to when removing them ? The felt material comes right off and underneath is a smooth plastic surface. Stripping the felt off is very easy and I think they would look much better painted black to match the surrounding window trim and weather stripping. Any help on the removal would be appreciated. |

My A pillars are getting worn too. Checked my factory service manual, the post trim is held on by clips, but for the B and C post you must remove the seat belt mounting bolt. Should be easy to then prise the trim pieces off, just be careful not to break any clips. Good idea on stripping the felt off and painting, I might just have to do that when my felt gets too bad to bear. |

I removed the felt on all of the pillar trim on my '96 Range Rover. The look now is much better than the dirty have worn felt that was there. As Alan stated, the trim peices are all held in with clips and the seatbelt anchors in some cases. Be gentle, and try to find each clip, and pry each one out indivitually. You will probably end up with one or two of them broken, but thankfully the pillars ar also held in place by the rest of the molding peices. |

The Felt comes off very easy when you use Simple Green. Just let it soak for about 5 to 10 minutes and then it should just brush off. Sincerely, Tad |
