You P38A owners probably all know this already, but what the heck. Follow the wire from the female part of your D/S seatbelt down to where it goes under the center console. There's a plug. Unplug it. And Voila! No more incessant shrieking when you have the audacity to start your Range Rover without your seatbelt on. And no fault codes (as yet). This may be in contravention of the International seatbelt treaty, but I prefer it this way. Cheers, Paul. |

Good move Paul, the P38 seat belt buzzer has got to be one of the most irritating and annoying buzzer known to man. It scares the heck out of people getting into the car, they think its gonna blow or that something is seriously wrong. FYI, the plug on my 96 is white with black tubing going in and out. http://rangerovers.net/rrupgrades/beltbuzzer.html |

You can also just press the seatbelt button & it will stop. |

actually pretty funny Alyssa. folks are cutting this and removing that to stop the noise when all you have to do is push a button! pure Range Rover idiosyncrasy! |

I don't need another button to push, just get rid of that annoying buzzer for good. If you have to hear it everyday then you will do the same thing, especially when working on the truck and turning the ignition on and off while working on it, good riddance! |

Or, WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!! I go through this with Ron. He refuses to wear his seatbelt in the BMW, and it doesn't just ding, it takes over your screen, flashes and constantly chimes the ENTIRE time you are driving. It also does it if your passenger isn't wearing a seatbelt (Or, in our case, if your puppy isn't wearing a seatbelt). Be grateful the dinging stops when you start driving. |

Alyssa, I'd like to point out that the reason the seat belt warning chime is so annoying is because I put on my seatbelt after I start the engine. I never drive anywhere without my seatbelt fastened. I work for the highways department and have seen way too many accdents to drive without my lights on and seatbelt fastened. I know the chime can be stopped by pressing the button, but I agree with Alan. Be safe, Cheers, Paul. |
