I know. Asked a hundred times. But this time, max size with air suspension. Off road 75% of the time, and always at max air height? Checked Rangerovers.net - possible?? Looking at 235/85/16 Conti Tracs at $99.00 Any thoughts, Thanks Brian '95 RR Classic with working air suspension |

I think that would be pushing it. I would go with the 215/85 (?) 31 inch tire or perhaps the 245/75/16 if you want a bit wider. You may have to "fold" the inner lip on the rear inner fender wheel. This is just my opinion though as I really do not have much experience with Air Suspension. If it was me I would through a 2" -3 " lift and toss some 235s on it with MTs!! Brian, if you are looking to fully use your EAS then the largest tire that will fit is a 225/75. Even with that size you will encounter some rubbing at certain height setting against the air dam. If you have lost the air dam you may as Gordon said run the 215 or 245 sizes, but encounter rubbing in access and low profile. Suggestion would be lock your EAS during normal on-road driving and use the high profile for off-road. The pain with this is remembering what speed you are at so it doesn't go into low profile when you have it unlocked. I run 235/85 on my '93 LWB, but that was after I had converted to OME HD coils. I don't see how you could fit 235/85 tires on the RRC and still use the EAS unless you cutout your fenders or let the tires do the trimming for you. |

you know i am having the same dilema. front spoiler is gone, but the 93 lwb is still on the air springs which are great shape. I am need of new tires for this truck, but i want to go a bit bigger in anticipation of getting springs in the future....tires must come first since two are now balled on the sides.... so if i got it correct you can actually run 245s if you lock the eas so it does not sink down for freeway speed? also will a 245 fit in the stock tire carrier in the rear? thanks all |

I don't think 245s will be as much of a problem as the EAS will be. Save your pennies and get some real springs. Your air springs may be in good shape but there is a lot more to the EAS system than the bags. It will fail and leave you stranded, and then if you fix it, it will leave you penniless. Follow up to initial post: I went with the 215/85 Firestone MTs - $ 109.00 at Tirerack.com. Great reviews. In my humble opinion they look awesome and don't rub anywhere, even at access air height position. As of 7 miles on them, they are quiet on the highway and fill the wheel well perfectly. we had 215/85-16 on our LWB without any problems with the EAS at any height. and wheeled it fairly hard as well. yes, it fits in the rear with a little modification of the wheel well with a BFH. Jaime |

whats a BFH? so it does fit in the spare tire mount..eve with the cover on? or does the cover need to be cut/modified |
