Can anyone tell me how to remove the exterior molding on a RR 4.0 that goes across the doors. Min is starting to fade and it is bugging the hell out of me. I was going to just pull it off, but I dont want to break something before consulting all you DWebbers. (This is the same molding that is trimmed with chrome on the 2001, and 2002 Rovers) |

James, Do you need to remove it? I bought some stuff from the auto parts store to refurbish them (and the door handles). I'm at work and can't check the brand - but is was US-made. I'll check when I get home tomorrow. Ron |

I use Turtle Wax Black Chrome cleaner and sealant. Its a silicon based liquid that really sets off all the grey and black moulding on P38A's. It is even good for blending the scuffs from off road close calls you might have miss judged a bit. Good for about a month or so if you garage your vehicle. |

James, The stuff I've bought for my P38A (but not yet used 'cos I've replaced the front bumper with a bull bar and the rear bar with a Kaymar rear step bar and wheel carrier) is called: CarPlan T-Cut Color Fast Permanent Bumper & Trim Restoration Kit - colour Charcoal. The package says "... restore the original look to unpainted plastic bumpers, trims, body mouldings, spoilers and mirror backs." Actually, it is made in the UK. What made me check was the spelling of "mouldings" and the fact that the contents are in mL. See http://www.cares4cars.co.uk But I'm sure Mothers or similar would make a similar product. Ron |
