Hello,

since we do not want to be afraid to go into semi-deep creeks (e.g. like upto half of the door or so), we wanted to know, what should we watch out for ? What will be the best way to insulate stuff ? (especially, probably, computer ?) ...

well, anything that relates to this ...

Since I saw many Rovers well under water driving ...

we drove through not deep creeks without a problem, but not anything major.

Thansk !

use dielectric grease. put this into all the electrical connections. put it into the spark plug high tension leads. at the engine block and at the distributor. remove dis cap and put the grease on the lip. to form a seal replace cap. seal off air box the same way. grease the lip and replace.
even better. military underwater or water proof ignition kit!
check door seals. seal up the slit in them. this will slow water ingress into cab area.
watch your water depth you do not want water into the engine! even so get a snorkel kit. drive slowly, no heros dives here.
also may be try some of that marine electrical sealer. like liquid rubber?
raise axle breathers. think i got it all?
more to follow!

maybe. military waterproof ignition kit. carry wd 40 and give a good dose of this to engine compartment before water crossings.

Also check to make sure that the gromments where the wiring harness passes through underneath each front seat are in good shape and correctly installed. When I removed my EAS stuff under the right side, I found that the gromment had not been installed correctly and would have leaked big time. Considering its location, I also have to assume that this was done at the factory.
